Kansas, nicknamed the Sunflower State, is located in Midwestern United States and named after a Native American Tribe. Kansas has been nicknamed the “Heart of America” because of its geographic location, and is well known as one of the settings in the popular story “The Wizard of Oz.”

Eastern Kansas is where the larger cities are located and Flint Hills is where some of the last of the living grasslands of the Great Plains is located.
